Pillars and Priorities
2026-2028 Six Strategic Pillars
Our Six Pillars for 2026-2028 are the result of over a year of extensive listening across our partners, donors, board leadership, leaders across the ecosystem, and staff. They are rooted in the cross-cutting themes of transparency, accountability, narrative power, and regional equity and chart a path for Georgia Alliance to shift from a responsive funder to a proactive, values-driven capacity-builder and statewide strategist.
Pillar 1: Rebuild Trust & Strengthen Partner Relationships +
The Alliance will increase transparency and consistency through clear funding criteria, a Partner Council, shared metrics, predictable communication, and regional presence. Partners will help shape strategy, not just receive it.
Pillar 2: Align Budgeting with Values & Future Capacity
To strengthen stability and credibility, the Alliance will adopt multi-year budgeting, build regranting rhythms that extend beyond election cycles, and ensure financial decisions reflect racial equity, regional coverage, and long-term infrastructure.
Pillar 3: Diversify & Stabilize Funding
A comprehensive fundraising plan will grow donor pipelines, including Black donors, younger Georgians, and regional supporters, while shifting the narrative toward trust philanthropy and celebrating partner wins to build confidence and investment.
Pillar 4: Demonstrate Unique Ecosystem Value
The Alliance will become the state’s leading source of civic insight through quarterly ecosystem briefs, clear articulation of roles, public storytelling, and a research agenda that lays the groundwork for the Research Hub spin-off.
Pillar 5: Build Ecosystem Accountability & Coordination
A statewide CRM, ecosystem map, issue-based retreats, and strengthened convenings will support alignment across organizations, allowing partners and funders to see where work is happening and where gaps remain.
Pillar 6: Strengthen Organizational Resilience
In anticipation of an incoming Executive Director, the Alliance will clarify roles, document core processes.
Investment Imperatives:
✔ Voter education and engagement beyond major cycles
✔ Leadership pipelines for organizers, youth, and multilingual communities
✔ Base-building in rural, Black Belt, Latino, AAPI, Muslim, and immigrant communities
✔ Deep canvassing and civic circles embedded at the neighborhood level
Georgia Alliance aims to influence:
✔ Strengthening local civic hubs in mid-sized cities and rural counties
✔ Building regional networks in South and Central Georgia
✔ Ensuring communities outside Atlanta have access to resources, training, and coordination
✔ Supporting local leaders with deep community trust
Statewide Influence Goal:
A connected network of local civic anchors capable of organizing, narrative work, research participation, and turnout efforts across every region.
